The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is offering new grants under the Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem (GPD) Transition in Place (TIP) program to support community-based organizations in providing transitional housing and supportive services for homeless Veterans. The program aims to facilitate Veterans' engagement in permanent housing by allowing them to assume leases within 6-12 months, with the goal of increasing housing stability and reducing homelessness among this population. Approximately 40 grants will be awarded over three years, starting on October 1, 2026, with a focus on achieving key performance indicators such as 75% permanent housing exits and 70% Veteran employment. Interested applicants, including nonprofits without 501(c)(3) status, must submit their applications by February 17, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and can contact Chelsea Watson at GPDgrants@va.gov for further information.
