The U.S. Department of Energy's Golden Field Office is offering the 2024 Renew America’s Schools Prize through a cooperative agreement aimed at transforming public school infrastructure into healthier, energy-efficient learning environments. This opportunity includes a two-phase approach: Phase 1 involves a cash prize of $300,000 for up to 23 winners who will identify schools in need of energy improvements, while Phase 2 allows winners to negotiate for additional funding between $500,000 and $1,000,000 to conduct energy audits and develop strategic plans. The program is particularly focused on local educational agencies that are rural or high-poverty, with a total estimated funding of $180 million available, including awards ranging from $7.5 million to $15 million in Phase 3 for implementation. Interested applicants must register on the HeroX platform and submit their applications by June 13, 2024; for further inquiries, they can contact Luke Anthony Gomes at luke.gomes@hq.doe.gov.
