The Fort Worth District of the Department of the Army is seeking Statements of Interest for a cooperative agreement focused on natural resource vegetation mapping for San Clemente Island. The primary objective of this project is to produce an updated vegetation map to aid in natural resource management and habitat monitoring, particularly in response to significant ecological changes observed since the late 20th century. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to environmental stewardship and effective management of military lands, while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations such as the Sikes Act and the Endangered Species Act. Interested applicants, who must belong to designated Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units (CESU) regions, are invited to submit a two-page Statement of Interest by July 20, 2024, with an available funding amount of approximately $380,759 for a 24-month performance period.
