Description

The U.S. Mission to Luxembourg, through the Public Diplomacy Section (PD) of the U.S. Embassy, is seeking proposals for programs that strengthen bilateral ties between the United States and Luxembourg on Engaging Students in English. The grant opportunity is open to various organizations, including non-governmental organizations, think tanks, government institutions, academic institutions, and individuals.

The programs should focus on enhancing English language skills and professional English capacity of students, such as public-speaking, debate, and theater/drama. Additionally, programs that promote the English-teaching profession and community, such as trainings, workshops, conferences, or presentations for English educators in Luxembourg, are encouraged.

The grant also supports English-language programs for underprivileged groups, including but not limited to refugees, women, abuse victims, and children. Educational programs such as English language camps, academic competitions, international exchanges, conferences, workshops, courses, exhibits, hackathons, online projects, or performances are eligible for funding.

Projects that bring U.S. experts to engage with students and teachers in Luxembourg to share American best practices in English-language education are also encouraged. All programs must engage Luxembourg audiences and include a U.S. element or connection with U.S. experts to promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives. It is important to note that any speaker paid with grant funding must hold U.S. citizenship.

The grant opportunity has a ceiling of $15,000 and a floor of $3,000. The deadline for submitting a Statement of Interest is May 5, 2024. For more information on how to apply, please visit the Funding Opportunities page on the U.S. Embassy Luxembourg website: https://lu.usembassy.gov/grants-program/.
