The Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (TIP Office) of the U.S. Department of State has announced a Notice of Intent for the Program to End Modern Slavery (PEMS) for Fiscal Year 2022. The program aims to significantly reduce human trafficking in targeted populations through innovative, research-driven interventions and partnerships, focusing on five priority areas: Supply Chains, Climate Change and Displacement, Public Health, Financial Inclusion, and Sex Trafficking. While the TIP Office is not currently accepting applications, it has appropriated $25 million annually since FY 2016 for PEMS, totaling $150 million to date, and anticipates releasing a Statement of Interest and a Notification of Funding Opportunity in the coming months.
