The U.S. Geological Survey is offering a cooperative agreement opportunity for partners affiliated with the Great Rivers Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) to investigate methods for monitoring floodplain vegetation status and trends. The objective of this funding is to enhance the efficiency and comprehensiveness of tracking plant communities along the Upper Mississippi and Illinois River floodplains, which are critical ecosystems. Eligible applicants must be participating partners in the CESU Program, with an estimated total program funding of $248,648, and no cost-sharing or matching requirement. Interested parties should submit their applications by December 26, 2024, and can direct inquiries to Faith Graves at fgraves@usgs.gov.
