Emergency Rural Health Care (ERHC) Grant Program

The Rural Housing Service of the USDA is offering the Emergency Rural Health Care (ERHC) Grant Program. On the other hand, Track Two, Impact grants offer funding to advance ideas and solutions to solve regional health care problems and support the long-term sustainability of rural health. To be eligible for grant funds, the eligible facility or project must be located in a rural area and primarily serve rural residents. Rural areas are defined as any area other than a city, town, or unincorporated area with a population of greater than 20,000 inhabitants. The grant program requires a cost-sharing or matching requirement. The award ceiling is $10,000,000, and the award floor is $25,000. The estimated total program funding is $500,000,000. Application submission for Track One, Recovery grants should be made to the USDA Rural Development State Office in the state where the applicant's project is located. For Track Two, Impact grants, applications should be submitted to the USDA Rural Development State Office in the state where the applicant is headquartered. Applicants with headquarters located in the District of Columbia should submit their applications to the USDA Rural Development National Office.
