The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is offering a funding opportunity through its National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) for the 2025 Regional Ecosystem Research Program, aimed at understanding species' habitat usage and connectivity in and around marine protected areas (MPAs). This competitive grant seeks proposals that will generate actionable information to enhance MPA management, focusing on species connectivity, habitat affinities, and the impacts of climate change. Eligible applicants include U.S. institutions of higher education, non-profits, state and local governments, and for-profit organizations, with funding available up to $2,000,000 for each of two selected projects over a duration of three to four years. Proposals must be submitted via Grants.gov by January 23, 2025, and an informational webinar will be held on October 22, 2024, to provide further details. For inquiries, contact Kimberly Puglise at kimberly.puglise@noaa.gov or the NCCOS Grants Administrator at nccos.grant.awards@noaa.gov.
