Industry-Driven Skills Training Fund Grant Program

The Employment and Training Administration of the Department of Labor has announced the Industry-Driven Skills Training Fund Grant Program, which offers $30 million in funding to State Workforce Agencies. This program aims to address critical workforce needs in high-demand skilled trades and industries, such as shipbuilding, artificial intelligence infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing, by providing grants ranging from $3 million to $8 million to reimburse employers for up to 80% of training costs for new hires and incumbent workers. The initiative emphasizes employer-driven training and requires partnerships with businesses committed to upskilling their employees, with a minimum of $5 million specifically allocated for shipbuilding training.
