The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, is soliciting Statements of Interest for a project titled "New Seagrass Surveys of Post Construction Survey Site," aimed at assessing seagrass recovery and environmental conditions in the La Quinta Channel area. Eligible applicants must be members of the Gulf Coast/South Florida Caribbean Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units (CESU) and are expected to conduct two primary tasks: mapping seagrass extent and species using GPS, and conducting surveys between August and October, culminating in a final report within 60 days post-survey. This project is critical for understanding seagrass ecosystems, which play a vital role in coastal health and biodiversity. Interested parties must submit their Statements of Interest by 12:00 P.M. Central Time on August 16, 2024, with funding anticipated between $300,000 and $350,000 for initial tasks, and potential for additional funding based on task outcomes.
