The U.S. Geological Survey is offering a cooperative agreement opportunity for partners affiliated with the Great Plains Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) to conduct hydrologic research in the Dakotas and Missouri River basin. The objective of this funding is to address various hydrologic challenges, including water availability and quality, as well as the impacts of energy development, climate variability, and land-use changes on groundwater and surface water systems. This research is crucial for understanding and managing water resources effectively, particularly in light of the significant environmental stresses faced by the region. Interested applicants can apply for funding amounts ranging from $51,000 to $400,000, with applications due by 5:00 p.m. ET on July 22, 2024.
