The Philippines USAID-Manila is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) regarding a proposed new fisheries activity aimed at addressing unsustainable fishing practices in the Philippines. The initiative seeks to gather insights on innovative partnerships, barriers to sustainable fisheries management, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on enhancing compliance with science-informed regulations and increasing socioeconomic benefits for marginalized populations. This effort is critical as approximately 80% of fish stocks in the region are overfished, threatening food security and the livelihoods of small-scale fishers. Interested organizations are encouraged to submit their responses by July 22, 2024, and can direct inquiries to Howard Weston at +632 53016000 or via email at manila-roaa-rfa@usaid.gov.
