The National Institutes of Health (NIH), through its National Institute on Aging (NIA), is offering the Mentored Entrepreneurial Career Development Award (K01), a federal grant aimed at supporting early-career scientists in developing skills in biomedical research and entrepreneurial endeavors. This program is designed to address the gap between the increasing number of Ph.D. graduates and limited academic job opportunities, providing candidates with mentorship from both a Research Mentor and an Entrepreneurial Mentor while focusing on aging-related research, including Alzheimer’s and related dementias. Eligible applicants can receive up to $90,000 per year in salary support and an additional $50,000 for research and career development expenses, with a maximum project duration of five years. Interested parties must submit their applications by October 17, 2024, and can find more information by contacting NIH Grants Information at grantsinfo@nih.gov or visiting the opportunity's webpage at https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-22-227.html.
