The US Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division intends to award a sole-source contract to Survival Systems USA Inc. for the fabrication and installation of Multi-Use Egress Trainers (MUET) at multiple locations.
The MUETs are designed to simulate the layout of current and future vehicles in the US Marine Corps, including the Amphibious Combat Vehicle and Joint Light Tactical Vehicle Combat Tactical Vehicle. The contract aims to replace older training systems with a technical refresh that aligns with modern vehicle designs.
This project involves installing the MUET equipment at six military bases: Camp Pendleton and Del Mar in California, Camp Blaz in Guam, Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, Okinawa in Japan, and Honolulu in Hawaii. The equipment includes proprietary lifting systems and infrastructure interfacing with the MUET.
With an intended award date by the end of 2024, the contract has an estimated value of less than $15 million and aims for delivery in 2025.
The Naval Air Warfare Center is designated as the acquisition agent for the MUET program, and Survival Systems USA is identified as the sole source due to its unique expertise and intellectual property rights related to egress training systems. The government intends to award the contract based on 10 USC 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1.
Interested parties may submit detailed written technical capabilities to the Contract Specialist by email until August 12, 2024. Verbal submissions will not be accepted.
Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities are directed to contact Survival Systems USA directly.
