The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Langley Research Center is seeking information from potential sources for the lease of two aircraft to support its Scientifically Calibrated In-Flight Imagery (SCIFLI) team in airborne imaging missions related to human spaceflight activities. The leased aircraft will undergo structural modifications, including the integration of custom-built EO/IR sensor systems, to meet specific operational requirements for high-fidelity imaging during critical flight phases. This initiative is crucial for validating aerothermal models and ensuring mission assurance for NASA and commercial spaceflight programs. Interested firms are invited to submit capability statements and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates by November 25, 2023, to the primary contact, CJ Scott, at carey.f.scott@nasa.gov, with a potential award date anticipated in mid-January 2026.
