NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is seeking industry partners for the development of the X-ray Mirror Assembly (XMA) for the Advanced X-ray Imaging Satellite (AXIS) mission. The primary objectives include enhancing mirror segment production techniques, creating a manufacturing plan, and estimating costs for approximately 16,000 flight mirror segments and 260 mirror modules, all aimed at achieving high angular resolution for future astrophysics missions. This partnership is crucial for advancing X-ray telescope technology and ensuring the successful execution of the AXIS mission, which is projected to launch by January 2032. Interested parties should contact David Richardson at david.h.richardson@nasa.gov or Gerry Daelemans at gerard.j.daelemans@nasa.gov for further details, and proposals must be submitted by the specified deadlines outlined in the Partnership Opportunity Document.
