MOIRRAS Accessory Design/Build

This Statement of Work outlines a collaboration between the Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) and a university to design, build, and integrate a Metal Oxide Infrared Reflection Absorption Spectroscopy (MOIRRAS) accessory. The project, spanning two years, aims to develop a new capability for studying molecular adsorption on metal oxide single crystals. Key objectives include designing and building the MOIRRAS accessory, integrating it with an existing IR spectrometer and a new ultra-high vacuum (UHV) chamber, and performing validation studies. The CFN will provide the IR spectrometer, an initial UHV chamber design, and all metal oxide samples, while the contractor will be responsible for the MOIRRAS accessory's design, assembly, and installation. Deliverables include an experimental plan, design approvals, component orders, assembly reports, delivery, installation, commissioning, initial studies, monthly progress reports, and a publication draft.
