The Department of Defense, through the Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), is soliciting proposals for the Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) Demonstration Program, aimed at identifying innovative technologies for the prevention, detection, and management of freshwater HABs. The initiative seeks to significantly reduce the frequency and impact of HABs affecting water resource projects managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, in accordance with the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2020. Eligible projects may receive funding up to $9 million across a maximum of 10 awards, with a focus on field demonstrations and performance data generation to enhance HAB management strategies. Interested applicants should submit their solutions via the ERDCWERX platform by February 7, 2025, and can contact Crystal Elizabeth North at crystal.e.north@usace.army.mil or Anitra Wilson at Anitra.D.Wilson@usace.army.mil for further information.
