The Department of Justice, through the Federal Bureau of Prisons, is preparing to solicit bids for a firm-fixed-price construction contract focused on the repair and replacement of electrical MVS switchgear at the Federal Correction Institution (FCI Butner) in North Carolina. The project entails repairing the existing medium voltage switchgear located behind the Food Service/Facilities Department and replacing another unit situated behind the “O” Housing Unit. This work is critical for maintaining the electrical infrastructure of the correctional facility, ensuring safety and operational efficiency. The solicitation is expected to be released around September 16, 2024, with an estimated project value between $250,000 and $500,000.
