A Sources Sought notice has been issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Services. The EPA is conducting a market search for small businesses in preparation for a future procurement. The purpose of this notice is to gather information from the small business community regarding their interest and capability in performing the tasks outlined in the attached draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) related to NGS. The EPA will be using NGS to complete gene expression translational research for various research programs. The capability packages submitted by respondents should address specific areas such as accepting user-prepared sequencing libraries, short-read DNA and RNA sequencing, preparing DNA and RNA sequencing libraries compatible with Illumina instrumentation, performing sequencing on a specific number of samples per year, preparing 3’-tagged RNA-seq libraries, preparing libraries for full length RNA sequencing, performing QA/QC analysis, and supporting data transfer. Interested entities should submit a capability statement via FedConnect by August 16, 2024. The contract is anticipated to be an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) type contract with a single, 5-year ordering period. Small businesses are encouraged to submit capability statements, and the EPA reserves the right to set the resulting requirement aside for small businesses.
