The Department of Defense, through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research and Development Center – Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (ERDC-CRREL), intends to award a sole source contract to Alaska Pacific University for the collection of in-situ field observations related to Eklutna Glacier in Alaska. The procurement aims to obtain a comprehensive long-term time-series of glacial watershed parameters, including hydrology, weather, and snow-ice ablation changes, which are critical for validating models under development by CRREL researchers. Alaska Pacific University is uniquely qualified for this requirement, having operated and maintained a field measurement collection program on Eklutna Glacier since 2008, making it the sole source of historical environmental observations and annual field measurement campaigns. Interested parties may submit capability statements to Rhoda Lewis at rhoda.a.lewis@usace.army.mil by the specified deadline for consideration, although there is no guarantee of a competitive procurement process.
