The U.S. Navy's Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) issues a Request for Information (RFI) seeking input from various entities for the design and development of the integrated power system (IPS) for the DDG(X) Guided Missile Destroyer program. This RFI is a preliminary step for planning and market research, seeking insights from industry leaders, academia, and other interested parties.
The DDG(X) program aims to develop a guided missile destroyer with advanced power and propulsion systems. NAVSEA seeks information and insights to aid in decision-making for the ship's propulsion system design, focusing on flexibility and future growth potential.
Respondents are invited to provide information and recommendations on various aspects of the IPS, including:
Defense and commercial contractors, including small businesses and specialized entities, are encouraged to respond. The Navy seeks input from businesses with experience in IPS components, systems integration, and complex manufacturing processes.
This RFI is for market research and information exchange, with no funding associated with it. It does not obligate the government to award contracts. However, responses may influence future procurements and acquisitions.
Responses are due by 12:00 pm EST on September 15, 2024, with a preference for electronic submissions in Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint formats. Respondents should provide a cover sheet with an executive summary and company details. The Navy encourages partial responses and clarifies that not responding does not preclude future participation.
The Navy will evaluate responses based on their relevance and potential to contribute to the DDG(X) program's power and propulsion system design. Input from industry experts, academia, and non-traditional defense contractors is valued.
