The Department of Defense, through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), is seeking contractors for the maintenance dredging of the Sandy Hook Federal Navigation Channel in New York Harbor. The project aims to remove approximately 200,000 cubic yards of shoaled material, primarily sand and gravel, and transport it to the Sea Bright Offshore Borrow Area or designated National Park Service stockpile sites. This operation is crucial for maintaining navigational safety and efficiency in the harbor and is estimated to cost between $1 million and $5 million, with work anticipated to occur in the Fall/Winter of 2025/2026. Interested contractors are encouraged to complete a confidential survey regarding their experience and equipment capabilities, and they can contact Adrian Stafford-Browne at adrian.j.stafford-browne@usace.army.mil or Nicholas P. Emanuel at nicholas.p.emanuel@usace.army.mil for further details.
