The Department of Defense, through the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), is seeking contractors for structural repairs to Berth 13 at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. The project aims to restore deck loading capacity and extend the usable life of the berth by addressing deteriorated deck sections, piles, caps, beams, and steel reaction frame connections over an area of approximately 25,000 square feet. This work is critical for maintaining the operational integrity of the waterfront facility, originally constructed in the 1940s. The contract, anticipated to be awarded by April 13, 2026, will utilize a best value tradeoff process, with a construction magnitude between $25 million and $100 million. Interested contractors must be registered in SAM and can expect the Request for Proposal (RFP) around January 22, 2026.
