The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) intends to award a sole-source contract to Northrop Grumman for the procurement of a void sensing fuze algorithm, which is critical for its penetrator weapons systems. This contract aims to enhance the accuracy of high-technology detonation (HTD) weapon modeling within the Integrated Munitions Effect Assessment (IMEA) software tool by integrating proprietary algorithms that have already been developed and validated by Northrop Grumman. The proprietary algorithm will support the technical objectives of both the IMEA and Target Weaponeering Assistance Cell (TWAC) programs, ensuring the government can utilize this advanced technology for critical military operations. Interested parties may submit statements for consideration, but the government retains the sole discretion regarding the contract award, with no obligation to cover costs incurred by responses.
