The Department of the Interior (DOI) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to identify vendors capable of providing Easy Aerial Tethered Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). These UAS will support DOI operations, with an estimated procurement of 2-6 units annually. Key requirements include a tether length of at least 300 feet, total weight under 55 lbs, compatibility with specific payloads (NextVision Raptor, DragonEye2, Nighthawk2-UZ, NightHawk2-V, Echodyne EchoFlight cUAS Radar), operation in adverse weather (0°-110°F, 20kts sustained wind), 24+ hour tethered flight time, rapid deployment, GCS and remote operation, real-time live streaming, mobile/semi-stationary solutions, anti-collision lighting, and API integration. Crucially, all UAS must comply with FAR 52.240-1, prohibiting components manufactured or assembled by American Security Drone Act-covered foreign entities (adversary countries: North Korea, Iran, China, Russia, or others designated by the Secretary of Commerce). Vendors must identify the country of origin, make, and model for critical electronic components and disclose any components manufactured in adversary countries. This RFI is for planning purposes only and is not a commitment to procurement. Submissions, including company information (name, POC, phone, email, business size NAICS 336411), are due by December 19, 2025, 5:00 PM ET, to stephanie_boles@ibc.doi.gov and andrew_cary@ibc.doi.gov. Questions must be submitted by December 5, 2025.
