The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) intends to extend and compete the management and operating contract for the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (TJNAF) in Newport News, Virginia. The DOE plans to award a one-year noncompetitive contract extension to Jefferson Science Associates, LLC (JSA) for the management and operation of TJNAF, which is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) focused on nuclear physics research and technology. Following this extension, a full and open competition for the management and operation of TJNAF is anticipated to commence in the third quarter of FY 2025, with a pre-solicitation notice to be issued thereafter. Interested parties can reach out to Tonja Stokes at TJNAFcompetition@science.doe.gov for further information, as the current contract is set to expire on May 31, 2025, and the extension will cover the period from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026.
