The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking input from local organizations for an initiative titled "Mitigation of FGM and Child Marriage Practices in the North and South of Sierra Leone." The primary objective of this Request for Information (RFI) is to gather feedback on the impact of Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) and child marriage in rural areas, with a focus on local engagement and empowering civil society organizations (CSOs) to address these critical issues. Given the alarming prevalence rates of FGM/C at 83% and child marriage at 30% among girls in Sierra Leone, this initiative aims to leverage local expertise to develop effective strategies for advocacy and community engagement. Interested parties must submit their responses by October 14, 2024, via email to the designated contacts, Aissatou Conde and Mark Poubelle, at conakryoaa@usaid.gov and mpoubelle@usaid.gov, respectively.
