Solicitation Notice: DEPT OF DEFENSE is seeking lease proposals for office space in Sault Sainte Marie, MI. The government requires a minimum of 6,500 square feet to a maximum of 6,825 square feet of general office space within a ¼ mile radius of St. Marys Falls Canal. The space will be used as the Integrated Project Office (IPO) for the Soo Mega Project, providing construction oversight and project management capabilities for the New Lock at the St. Marys Falls Canal. The lease term is anticipated to be through December 2030, with options for up to five additional years. The Detroit District, US Army Corps of Engineers, is seeking lease Proposals for a minimum of 6,500 square feet to a maximum 6,825 square feet of General office space located within a ¼ mile radius of St. Marys Falls Canal, Sault Sainte Marie, MI.  The Government seeks space to be customized and ready for occupancy as soon as reasonably possible, however, no later than February 15, 2025. Office space will be used as the Integrated Project Office (IPO) in Sault Sainte Marie, MI.  The IPO will provide construction oversight and project management capabilities of the New Lock at the Soo Mega Project located at the St. Marys Falls Canal.   Additional information regarding this solicitation may be obtained from Dannette Hansen by email at   All questions pertaining to this requirement shall be submitted in writing no later than ten  (10) calendar days prior to the date/time indicated for receipt of offers. Interested parties are advised that all Shell work associated with delivery are at the Lessor’s cost, tenant requested alterations will be paid in a ‘lump sum’ payment upon completion of the work.  In addition to buildout, the responsibility of the design will be that of the Lessor.  A fully serviced lease is required. All contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management ( prior to award of a contract. Contractors will need to obtain a Unique Entity Identifier (formerly DUNS number) for processing their registration. ALERT: You must submit a notarized letter appointing the authorized Entity Administrator before your registration will be activated. This requirement now applies to both new and existing entities. Effective 29 April 2018, the notarized letter process is now mandatory on all CURRENT registrants at SAM who have a requirement to update data on their SAM record.  The notarized letter is mandatory and is required before the GSA Federal Service Desk (FSD) will activate the entity's registration.  Effective 29 June 2018, vendors creating or updating their registration can have their registration activated prior to the approval of the required notarized letter.  However, the signed copy of the notarized letter must be sent to the GSA Federal Service Desk (FSD) within 30 days of activation or the vendor risks no longer being active in SAM. Vendors can check whether an account is active by performing a query by their CAGE or Unique Entity Identifier (known as DUNS). The new registration process may now take several weeks, so vendors are highly encouraged to begin registering as soon as possible to avoid any possible delays in future contract awards. Remember, there is no cost to use SAM.
