Bolometer Upgrade

NASA's National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is seeking to procure an upgrade for an existing bolometric detector system at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). The primary objective of this procurement is to enhance the system's capabilities by incorporating a second NbTES bolometer that can operate at frequencies up to 10 THz, along with the addition of a Winston cone and a low pass edge filter, achieving a noise equivalent power (NEP) of 10—3.9 pW Hz-1/2 and a linear dynamic range exceeding 70 dB. This upgrade is critical for advancing NASA's research initiatives in analytical laboratory instrumentation. Interested organizations must submit their capabilities and qualifications in writing to Tiffany Neal at TIFFANY.NEAL@NASA.GOV by 11:59 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on July 21, 2025, to be considered for this sole source contract, which is expected to be awarded to QMC under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i).
