The Department of Defense, through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), is planning to conduct maintenance dredging of the Sandy Hook Channel in New York Harbor, a critical federal navigation project. The objective is to remove approximately 200,000 cubic yards of shoaled material to restore the channel to its authorized depth of -35 feet Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth, thereby ensuring safe navigation for military, commercial, and recreational vessels. This project is significant for maintaining the operational integrity of the channel and facilitating the beneficial use of dredged materials. Interested contractors should note that the estimated cost for this work is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000, with a solicitation expected in June 2025 and a bid opening in July 2025.
