The Department of Defense, specifically the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, is conducting market research for the construction of the Power Independence Mission Control Station at Buckley Space Force Base in Colorado. This project aims to establish a facility that provides utility and backup power to support the Space-Based InfraRed Systems mission, including the construction of a new power plant, backup generators, and associated infrastructure. The estimated construction cost is between $25 million and $100 million, with a contract award anticipated in the second or third quarter of fiscal year 2025.
