High-Throughput Embarked Data Transfer
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The U.S. Navy is seeking an SBIR solution under DON26BZ03-NV058 for a small-form-factor embarked data transfer capability to move SSDS combat system data from ships back to ashore support organizations for analysis and system improvement. The effort calls for a device and associated software that can ingest data from common storage media and transmit large data packages off Navy surface platforms, with Phase I focused on feasibility, Phase II on prototype development and testing, and Phase III on integration and qualification support. Proposed solutions must fit within one cubic foot stowed volume, transfer at least four terabytes in 60 seconds over more than 5,000 nautical miles, deploy in under ten minutes, integrate with DoW Program of Record communications architectures, and comply with DoW cybersecurity and information assurance standards; Phase II work may be classified and requires a U.S.-owned contractor with secret facility and personnel clearances. The topic is in pre-release, opens June 24, 2026, and closes July 22, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. UTC.
