Software Defined Radio for Link Diversity
STTR Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Defense Missile Defense Agency is seeking proposals under the STTR program to design and develop an agile Software Defined Radio system for interceptor platforms. Contractors must develop a multi-band radio featuring independent RF chains, rapid frequency hopping, adaptive frequency selection, and make-before-break handover mechanisms across S, X, and Ka bands. The project requires validating the architecture in a laboratory environment during Phase I before integrating the hardware into a ruggedized, MIL-STD-compliant enclosure and implementing NIST-approved encryption during Phase II. Because this ITAR-restricted project may transition to a classified environment in Phase II, offerors must address their ability to execute classified work and plan for a projected CMMC Level 1 certification. Proposals must be submitted by the application deadline of August 19, 2026.
