SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology, in partnership with other Army research entities, is hosting the xTech Inversion Competition to identify and advance commercialization pathways for a curated portfolio of Army intellectual property. Participating small businesses must propose dual-use technology solutions that leverage Army-developed intellectual property to address complex military and commercial needs. Selected Phase I participants will complete a feasibility study, a technology development roadmap, and a concept demonstration within a maximum six-month period of performance. The competition will award up to $1,000,000 in cash prizes, including $20,000 for up to 12 finalists who will pitch their solutions in August 2026, and $150,000 for up to five final winners who will also be eligible to submit a Phase I SBIR proposal worth up to $300,000.
