Low-Cost, Phased Array Antennas for Collaborative Jamming in sUAS Swarms

This government solicitation, DAF26TZ01-NV004, seeks proposals for developing low-cost, phased array antenna systems for collaborative jamming in small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) swarms (3-7 units). The objective is to create affordable and scalable jamming capabilities by coordinating multiple sUAS equipped with these antennas to increase jamming effectiveness, improve resilience, reduce detection risk, and lower costs compared to traditional high-power systems. Phase I focuses on concept development, preliminary designs, and simulations for a low-cost phased array antenna system. Phase II involves prototyping, integrating, and demonstrating a collaborative jamming system using a swarm of sUAS, emphasizing beamforming, software control interfaces, and the use of open-source and off-the-shelf components. The technology is restricted under ITAR/EAR, requiring disclosure of any foreign national involvement. Dual-use applications include disrupting illegal drone activity, protecting critical infrastructure, and enhancing communication security.
