Scalable Agile Manufacturing of Launched Effects
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The Army, through its SBIR topic ARM26BX02-NV004, is seeking scalable agile manufacturing approaches for Launched Effects airframes to support high-rate, low-cost production. The work calls for a manufacturing concept and representative LE design that address the full airframe build, including skins, stiffening elements, frames, control surfaces, bulkheads, clips, brackets, and other structural features, while accounting for critical interfaces, assembly constraints, and manufacturing limitations. The central performance goals are a production rate of 10,000 vehicles per month, an assembled airframe cost target of $2,000, and the ability to adapt quickly to minor design changes, with Phase I focused on a feasibility study using mature fabrication and assembly processes. Phase I submissions are limited to $300,000 with a 1- to 6-month period of performance, and applications are due June 24, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. ET.
