Scalable Agile Manufacturing of Launched Effects
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The U.S. Army, through a DOD SBIR topic, is seeking proposals for scalable agile manufacturing of launched effect airframes to support high-rate, low-cost production with the ability to adapt quickly to design changes. The work centers on developing a representative LE design and a manufacturing approach that covers fabrication, assembly, and the interfaces and constraints needed to produce structurally efficient airframes for demanding environments. The topic emphasizes mature or sufficiently mature processes, with objectives of up to 10,000 airframes per month, a target assembled airframe cost of $2,000, and Phase II demonstration of at least 80 articles in one week with one design change incorporated. Phase I submissions have a cost limit of up to $300,000 and a 1- to 6-month period of performance, and the opportunity is scheduled to open on May 27, 2026 and close on June 24, 2026.
