SBIR Opportunity Analysis

The U.S. Navy is seeking SBIR solutions for a low-cost, multi-mission helicopter dip sonar that can support both anti-submarine warfare and aviation mine countermeasure missions. The work calls for initial system designs that integrate multi-frequency band capabilities, with scale electronic models, analysis and simulation, and Phase II and Phase III transition plans. Key considerations include compatibility with existing Navy aircraft, primary ASW operation in the 3-5 kHz band, a higher-frequency band for AMCM, a possible tertiary band below 2 kHz, compact and lightweight packaging, and later-phase work that may be classified. Applications are due June 3, 2026 at 4:00 PM UTC through the DoD SBIR/STTR topics portal.
