Open Topic for Historical Radiation Data Analysis for Enhanced Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Modeling and Prediction
STTR Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Defense, through the Missile Defense Agency, is seeking proposals under this STTR solicitation to develop advanced analytical techniques for historical radiation data to enhance Ballistic Missile Defense System modeling and prediction. Awardees must conduct rigorous statistical analyses of long-term radiation trends from open-literature sources to identify patterns, execute correlation studies, build predictive models, and perform uncertainty quantification. The objective is to improve the predictive capabilities of radiation models, thereby either reducing or justifying the need for costly physical radiation testing of microelectronics. This project is restricted under ITAR and EAR export control regulations and requires a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Level 1. Applications must be submitted by the close date of August 19, 2026, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
