High Spectral/Spatial/Temporal Resolution MWIR Hyperspectral Imager
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The U.S. Air Force is seeking SBIR proposals to develop a high spectral, spatial, and temporal resolution MWIR hyperspectral imager for characterizing military target signatures and supporting missile warning and countermeasure system development. The work centers on developing an infrared hyperspectral imager covering 2.0 to 5.0 micrometers, with feasibility and conceptual design in Phase I and a prototype demonstration in Phase II. The effort calls for at least 100 x 100 spatial pixels, a full-frame cube rate of at least 60 cubes per second, spectral resolution of 40 nm or better, adjustable field of view, and compliance with ITAR/EAR-related restrictions on foreign national participation. The opportunity is in pre-release status, opens June 24, 2026, and the application is due July 22, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. UTC.
