High Spectral/Spatial/Temporal Resolution MWIR Hyperspectral Imager
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Defense, through the United States Air Force, is seeking proposals under the SBIR program for the development of a high-resolution mid-wave infrared hyperspectral imager. Awardees will design and prototype an imager covering a 2.0 to 5.0 micrometer wavelength range to characterize the signatures of military targets, including missile plumes and hardbodies. Key technical requirements include a spectral resolution of 40 nanometers or better, at least 100 by 100 spatial pixels, a minimum full-frame cube data rate of 60 cubes per second, and strict compliance with ITAR and EAR export control regulations. This dual-use technology opportunity is open for submissions from June 24, 2026, until the application deadline on July 22, 2026.
