Leveraging AI/ML for Optimizing JAG Data, Decision Making, and Military Justice Outcomes
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The Air Force District of Washington Judge Advocate is seeking SBIR solutions to improve legal and judicial data management, decision-making, and military justice outcomes through AI/ML. The work centers on automating document classification, metadata extraction, predictive analytics, generative AI responses, and related workflow improvements for military justice, contracting oversight, and civil support use cases. The effort is constrained by ITAR/EAR restrictions and a CMMC Level 2 requirement, and proposed solutions must be secure, explainable, compatible with Air Force data platforms, and aligned with Department of War ethical AI principles. Phase I calls for feasibility studies, preliminary model development, and prototype testing, with deliverables including a feasibility report, an initial prototype or wireframe demonstration, and a Phase II plan, and the opportunity is pre-release with proposals due July 22, 2026.
