Leveraging AI/ML for Optimizing JAG Data, Decision Making, and Military Justice Outcomes

The DAF26BZ03-NV018 initiative seeks AI/ML solutions to enhance data management, decision-making, and military justice outcomes for the Air Force District of Washington Judge Advocate (AFDW JA). This project aims to automate judicial and legal data processes, improve data quality, and mitigate bias in decision-making by leveraging AI/ML for document classification, metadata extraction, predictive analytics, and generative AI. The goal is to reduce processing delays by 50-70% and improve legal advisory excellence. The project has a CMMC Level 2 requirement and is restricted under ITAR/EAR. Phase I focuses on feasibility studies and preliminary model development, with Phase II advancing to a functional prototype and extensive testing. Phase III involves full-scale deployment and commercialization, with dual-use potential in civilian legal sectors. The proposed solutions must adhere to Department of War ethical AI principles and Air Force standards for secure and explainable AI.
