DIRECT TO PHASE II: Non-tactical Replacement of AN/UYK-43 in a Laboratory Environment

The AN/UYK-43 computer system, crucial for Aegis computer programs, is obsolete, creating a critical need for a replacement in land-based testing facilities. The Navy requires a non-tactical emulator that is binary compatible, offers equivalent input/output capabilities, and matches the UYK-43's performance, including precise instruction timing and memory capacity. This emulator, leveraging open-source code and Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) hardware, must execute 32-bit CMS-2Y tactical code on a common operating system. The project, designated Direct to Phase II, mandates offerors to demonstrate prior feasibility work on a UYK-43 emulator. Phase II will involve developing, demonstrating, and validating a prototype, with potential classification of work. Phase III focuses on transitioning the emulator for integration into Aegis baseline modernization processes, ensuring continued testing and certification.
