SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Defense, on behalf of the Department of the Navy, is seeking proposals under the SBIR program to develop a portable, long-range listening device for Marine Corps Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence operations. Awardees will be required to design a feasibility concept in Phase I and subsequently produce and validate operational prototype hardware in Phase II. The device must be able to accurately identify and record sounds at a distance of 200 meters with a terminal target area of no more than two meters, run on battery power for at least 24 continuous hours, and weigh 50 pounds or less. This pre-release solicitation, identified as solicitation number 26.BZ and topic number DON26BZ03-NV054, will formally open for applications on June 24, 2026, and close on July 22, 2026.
