Innovative Operations for Treatment and Processing of Wastewater

The U.S. Army, through the Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation and Missile Research Center (AvMC), is seeking innovative solutions for the treatment and processing of wastewater generated from the Ammonium Perchlorate Rocket Motor Destruction (ARMD) operations at the Letterkenny Munitions Center. The primary objective is to enhance operational efficiency by optimizing wastewater processing and reducing the volume of effluents requiring offsite disposal, while also minimizing manual handling processes associated with current systems. This initiative is critical for improving environmental management and operational throughput in the disposal of Ammonium Perchlorate-based rocket motors. Interested small businesses must participate in the xTechIgnite prize competition to qualify for a subsequent SBIR proposal, with Phase I funding of up to $250,000 available for a six-month feasibility study, and key deadlines for proposal submission set for July 9, 2025.
