Multi-Band Approach to Target Discovery
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The Department of the Navy is seeking a dual-band Synthetic Aperture Radar solution under this SBIR opportunity to enhance wide-area ocean surveillance, target tracking, and environmental monitoring. The selected contractor must develop a multi-band approach tool that incorporates a secondary band like S-band or C-band alongside existing X-band capabilities to increase ocean coverage and improve target detection. Phase I focuses on concept feasibility and modeling, while Phase II requires building a prototype for Navy testing that must be delivered to the government. Because Phase II work may become classified, prospective contractors must be U.S. owned and operated with no foreign influence and be capable of acquiring and maintaining a secret level facility and personnel security clearances. Proposals must be submitted by the close date of July 22, 2026, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
