SBIR Opportunity Analysis

The U.S. Army is seeking Direct to Phase II proposals under the SBIR program to design a modular Patient Handling System for the UH-60M helicopter to support its MEDEVAC fleet requirements. The selected contractor must optimize the cabin interior of the aircraft to improve patient access, survivability, and functionality, addressing design differences between the UH-60M and HH-60M cabin structures. Deliverables for Phase II include solid models of the new design, Airworthiness Qualification Specifications, and a functional technology demonstrator or prototype. To bypass Phase I, proposers must submit technical documentation, such as test data and prototype designs, that substantiates the scientific merit and feasibility of their proposed solution. Proposals are subject to a cost limit of up to $2,000,000 with a 12-to-18-month period of performance, and submissions must be received before the close date on August 19, 2026.
