UH-60M Patient Handling System

This U.S. Army solicitation (ARM26BX04-DV009) seeks proposals to design a modular Patient Handling System (PHS) for the UH-60M helicopter. The project aims to optimize the aircraft's cabin interior to improve survivability, functionality, and patient access compared to the existing HH-60M. This initiative addresses a critical MEDEVAC capability gap caused by fleet reductions, program cancellations, and aircraft divestments, helping the Army meet its end strength goal of 446 MEDEVAC aircraft. Because of structural differences between the UH-60M and HH-60M, an entirely new technological solution is required. This topic accepts Direct to Phase II (DP2) submissions with a cost limit of up to $2,000,000 and a 12-to-18-month performance period. Proposers must submit technical documentation demonstrating feasibility and scientific merit to bypass Phase I. Key Phase II milestones include solid models, Airworthiness Qualification Specifications, and a prototype. Dual-use applications for this lightweight PHS extend to commercial Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), ground vehicles, and heavy-lift Unmanned Aircraft Systems. The project requires a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 1.
