Ruggedized Sensors to Increase Driving Visibility and Vehicle Safety

The Department of Defense, specifically the Army, is seeking innovative solutions from small businesses to develop ruggedized sensor systems aimed at enhancing driving visibility and vehicle safety in degraded visual environments. The primary objective is to create sensor technologies that can be integrated into ground combat vehicles, enabling advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as collision warnings and automatic brake assist, thereby improving overall vehicle maneuverability and safety during various operational conditions. This opportunity is part of the xTechIgnite prize competition, where selected winners will be eligible to submit a Direct to Phase II SBIR proposal with a funding amount of up to $2 million for an 18-month performance period. Interested parties must submit their proposals by August 20, 2025, to be considered for this initiative.
