Low Resource Computing
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
DARPA, through the DoD SBIR program, is seeking low-resource computing solutions that can repurpose existing Department of Defense hardware to deliver new capabilities without relying on new chips or new computing architectures. The work focuses on developing commercially viable reuse of existing assets and demonstrating mission-capable performance, security, and stability on legacy systems. A successful approach must use existing chips and architectures to add functionality to hardware that is end-of-life or has less than 25% of the resources of a proposed new system, with Phase I centered on a prototype and Phase II extending the approach across three or more low-resource systems. This is a pre-release opportunity, opens May 27, 2026, and closes June 24, 2026 at 4:00 PM UTC.
