Low Resource Computing
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
DARPA, within DoD, is soliciting SBIR proposals for "Low Resource Computing," a topic focused on repurposing existing low-resource military hardware to add new capability instead of developing new chips or new computing architectures. The work calls for innovative approaches, including semantic overlays and other meta-programming methods, that can extend legacy systems with new functions while preserving performance, security, and stability. Phase I centers on a basic prototype and analysis showing the selected platform is end-of-life or has under 25% of the resources of a proposed new system, and Phase II requires demonstration across three or more low-resource systems with meaningful feature additions. The solicitation is open under topic DPA26BZ02-DV010 and solicits both Phase I and Direct to Phase II proposals, with applications due June 24, 2026 at 4:00 PM UTC.
