Event-Based Sensing Hardware and Algorithms for Navigation
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Defense Missile Defense Agency is seeking innovative proposals under its SBIR program to develop a low size, weight, power, and cost event-based sensing navigation solution for kill vehicles and satellites. Contractors must design and develop a visual navigation system that utilizes advanced neural network models and event-driven data to operate in hostile flight and space environments without relying on GPS or GNSS inputs. The proposed technology must function synergistically with existing inertial navigation systems and eventually integrate into current Missile Defense Agency platforms. Because the project involves restricted microelectronics and sensor technology, it requires compliance with ITAR and EAR regulations, as well as a Projected CMMC Level 1 certification. Applications for this opportunity are due by August 19, 2026, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
