Event-Based Sensing Hardware and Algorithms for Navigation
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Defense Missile Defense Agency is seeking innovative proposals under the SBIR program to develop an event-based sensing navigation solution that does not rely on GPS or GNSS inputs. Awardees will design and test a low size, weight, power, and cost system that utilizes advanced neural network models and event-driven data to enhance real-time decision-making and adaptive navigation for kill vehicles and satellites. The system must operate synergistically with existing inertial navigation systems and withstand hostile flight, low-earth orbit, and high-speed environments while meeting current GPS accuracy benchmarks. This project requires compliance with ITAR, EAR, and a Projected CMMC Level 1 certification due to the defense-related nature of the technology. Interested parties must submit their applications during the solicitation window, which opens on July 22, 2026, and closes on August 19, 2026.
