Adaptive Sensor Management
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The Department of the Navy is seeking an algorithm-based software solution for Adaptive Sensor Management under the SBIR program to support Navy aircraft carriers and amphibious warfare ships defended by the Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS). The selected contractor must develop a dynamic resource allocation capability that automatically assesses sensor contributions to fire control tracks, identifies conditions to release sensor resources, and specifies alternative tasking to optimize situational awareness. Phase I requires developing a concept and demonstrating feasibility through modeling, simulation, and analysis, while Phase II involves expanding the sensor suite to develop and deliver a prototype software capability. Contractors must be U.S. owned and operated with no foreign influence and be capable of acquiring and maintaining Secret-level facility and personnel security clearances, as Phase II work may become classified. Applications for this pre-release opportunity are due by July 22, 2026, at 4:00 PM UTC.
